Marion
once made the largest machinery in the world – huge steam
shovels and draglines that helped power the Industrial Revolution.
Cranes that built the Panama Canal, along with the Space Shuttle
transporter were made here. Marion has adapted to the changing demands
of industry.

an active downtown revitalization underway, the historic Palace Theatre
has become the center of Marion's cultural activity. Once home to
America's 29th president, Warren Harding, the Harding Home and Monument
anchor the history surrounding Marion's native son. |
